Ahead of RCB's clash against the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, former India and RCB skipper Virat Kohli met his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma and touched his feet. The two sides locked horns in the 50th game of the Indian Premier League 2023 and before the toss, Virat Kohli caught up with his childhood coach and sought his blessings too.
Kohli has always been very open about his life and has talked a lot about the few people who were in touch with him during his lean patch. Be it speaking to the media during press conferences, or speaking on the RCB podcasts, Kohli has mentioned multiple times that his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma and MS Dhoni were two among the very few people who got in touch with him and checked on him.
Speaking of the game, Kohli notched up a half-century in the contest, which was also his 50th fifty of the tournament's history. But his knock went in vain as Delhi Capitals sealed a victory and managed to take a revenge of their previous loss. When the two sides first met at the Chinnawamy Stadium in Bengaluru, RCB emerged victorious, but DC leveled it 1-1.
RCB had a forgettable day at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi as they lost the game even after being in a comfortable position. The 182-run target looked too low against the Delhi batters, who wreaked havoc on the field. Mixed efforts from RCB batters took the team to a defendable total, but the bowlers could not account for much as the David Warner-led side clinched a seven-wicket victory to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Delhi will face Chennai Super Kings in their next IPL 2023 encounter.
