The coveted Ranji Trophy 2024-25 will feature some high-profile Indian players in the setup who will be playing in the next round of the tournament. The two-time World Champion, Virat Kohli, will also mark his return in the premier domestic tournament as he recently made himself available for the match against the Railways. Notably, the thrilling encounter will be starting on Thursday, January 30.
Earlier, some speculations were doing the rounds that Kohli might be coming to train with the Delhi squad just ahead of the game. These reports turned out to be spot on as the Indian stalwart was seen gelling up with the young Delhi lads after he arrived at 9 AM at the renowned home ground of the team. For the unversed, The Katni-born is set to get back to India's domestic fold after 13 years. Notably, Kolhi last featured in a game against Uttar Pradesh in 2012, which was led by Virendra Sehwag.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli chose to play football after some light training with Team Delhi as part of the warmup drills under the watchful eyes of the head coach, Sarandeep Singh. The clip quickly went viral in the web world. Besides, the domestic side will be led by Ayush Badoni and will also feature the Indian pacer, Navdeep Saini. It is safe to say that the Kotla will be an exhibition since everyone will want to get a glimpse of Kohli in the game.

DDCA all geared up for the King’s return
Meanwhile, ahead of the upcoming Ranji Trophy game, the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) secretary, Ashok Sharma, briefed about the preparations made for the high-octane domestic match. Notably, after it was revealed Virat Kohli will be playing this match, the crowd was expected to see a surge.

“DDCA will open three gates at the Ambedkar stadium end and the entries will be completely free. Gate numbers 7, 15, and 16 will be open to the public. Facilities like drinking water, restrooms will be there with cleanliness and hygiene," the DDCA Secretary was quoted as saying by the News18 CricketNext.
“More gates will be opened if required. We already have nearly 15000 seats ready. But if more crowd shows up, I don’t think that would be a problem, we are aware of the fact that the profile of this game will be much higher. We usually have 10 to 12 private security personnel for a regular Ranji match, but that will be increased for this game," Sharma concluded.
