Virat Kohli's brother Vikas Kohli dispels rumours surrounding their mother's well-being

In the latest development, amidst swirling speculations about the health of star India batter Virat Kohli's mother, Vikas Kohli, his brother, has stepped forward to dispel the rumours. Taking to Instagram, Vikas Kohli clarified that their mother is in good health and urged fans to disregard such unfounded claims. This announcement comes as a relief to Kohli's supporters, who expressed concerns over social media. With this clarification, the Kohli family seeks to put an end to the baseless rumours surrounding their matriarch's well-being.

Here's Vikas Kohli's Instagram Post: 

"I have noticed that there is this fake news about our mom's health been circulating around. Let me clear that our mom is absolutely fit and fine. Also I would request everyone and also the media, not to spread such news without proper information. Thanks everyone for your concern," Vikas wrote on his Instagram story.

Amidst speculation surrounding Virat Kohli's absence from the first two Tests against England, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has urged respect for the player's privacy. While rumours initially suggested Kohli's break was due to his mother's illness, no official confirmation was provided. Reports also circulated about Kohli and Anushka Sharma expecting their second child, though unverified. 

Kohli, who missed the first T20I against Afghanistan, returned for the subsequent matches. The former India skipper was part of India's Test squad for the South Africa tour. With uncertainties surrounding Kohli's absence, the BCCI's call for discretion underscores the need to avoid speculation and allow players their privacy during personal matters.

Star Indian players to miss second Test against England 

In the upcoming second Test against England in Visakhapatnam starting on 2nd February, India will be without the services of Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, and KL Rahul due to injuries. Rajat Patidar replaced Kohli in the first test, while Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar have been called up to fill in for Jadeja and Rahul. The absence of these key players poses a challenge for India as they aim to maintain their dominance in the series.
