Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer poked fun at the English media and players over the Deepti Sharma-Charlotte Dean run-out incident and took a dig at all those criticizing Sharma for her move. Fans and pundits were divided by Sharma's choice to run out Dean at the non-striker’s end during the third ODI last Saturday at the Lord’s, which resulted in India defeating England 3-0 in the series.
Several current and former English players have given their opinions on it, with Jos Buttler being the most recent to do so, as he said that if such an event happens under his captaincy, he would call the batter back. While the Indian cricketers and media supported Deepti Sharma for abiding to the law, she received equal amount of backlash from the English players.
Jaffer, who is one of the most active persons on Twitter from the cricket fraternity, is known for his sarcastic and fun memes which he shares on the platform. This time he chose to use a bike incident to make fun of the English media and the players.
Italian cyclist Michael Guerra made the decision to cycle in the ‘plank’ position during a race to get an advantage over his rivals. Jaffer quote tweeted Guerra’s video to imply that the cyclist would have never done it had it not been within the rules of the sport, as he captioned it:
“It maybe within the rules, but it's against the spirit of cycling. I'd never do it" an English cyclist said.”

Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, during the post-match presentation, had said that she would back her players and added that Deepti Sharma did nothing wrong because all that the team did was well within the laws of the game. The game had come down to the final few overs when India needed just a wicket to win, and England needed 17 runs to win.
Charlie Dean managed the lower-order batting brilliantly and did a commendable job by taking her side so close to the win, but that one mistake cost her the game as India scripted history by defeating England, in England, for the first time by 3-0.
