However, one incident when Pakistan’s mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed delivered an absolute peach of a delivery to dismiss Shubman Gill, and his aggressive send-off grabbed significant eyeballs. Gill, who was looking well-set at 46, was asked to go back, courtesy of a well-delivered carrom ball.
Gill’s solid start and Abrar’s game-changing moment
India had started their chase of 242 strongly, with Rohit Sharma and Gill providing a good start. Despite Rohit’s dismissal for 20, Gill looked in solid touch and looked to continue his form, punishing the Pakistan bowlers all around the park. The Men in Green required a much-needed breakthrough, and it came in the form of Abrar, who was introduced into the attack to reduce India’s scoring rate.
Abrar Ahmed’s stunning delivery
In the 18th over of the second innings, the leg-spinner produced an absolute jaffa to castle the Punjab batter. The ball, delivered off the front of the hand, drifted in towards the leg stump before sharply turning away, completely deceiving Gill, who attempted a flick. The ball crashed into the top of the off-stump with Virat Kohli, standing at the non-striker’s end in a state of shock. However, Abrar followed it up with a fiery send-off as he walked up to Gill, arms folded, an gave a nod toward the pavilion.
