WATCH: Akash Deep apologises to Travis Head after unintentional mistake in Brisbane Test

Travis Head and Akash Deep shared a hilarious moment during the third Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Gabba. The game ended in a draw after multiple interruptions due to rain and bad light over the five days. The result means that the five-match series remain level at 1-1 with two games to go, in Melbourne from December 26 and in Sydney from January 3.

Apart from some great performances from both the teams, there was also banter among the Indians and the Australians as Travis Head, who has troubled India constantly in the series so far, was involved in a harmless interaction with Indian pacer Akash Deep.

Notably, Akash Deep defended a ball from Nathan Lyon, which got stuck in his pad. Head, who was at short leg, asked him to pass the ball. Akash Deep, instead of handing the ball to him, casually dropped it in front of Head, leaving him surprised. A hilarious interaction between the two players followed as Akash Deep immediately apologised for his unintentional act.

Akash Deep iimpressed with his bowling in the thrrd Test, taking three wickets in the match and making a crucial 31 in the first innings to help India avoid follow-on. He was involved in a crucial 47-run partnership with Jasprit Bumrah for the 10th wicket. 

Australia came out with an intent to score quickly on the fifth day and lost seven wickets in no time before declaring at 89/7 to set India a target of 275 runs. Indian openers KL Rahul and Yashavi Jaiswal played only 2.1 overs before play had to be stopped due to bad light. The proceedings did not resume eventually, with the match ending in a draw.
