[WATCH] Babar Azam out for duck off Mohammad Amir's slower delivery
Peshawar Zalmi need 217 runs to win the match against Quetta Gladiators
In the second match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, Quetta Gladiators scored a formidable total of 216 runs for Peshawar Zalmi to chase at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday, April 12.
Chasing the mammoth target, Peshawar Zalmi opened with skipper Babar Azam and Saim Ayub. The new ball was handed to the experienced left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir.
Amir bowled a brilliant first over, conceding just two runs. Importantly, on the final delivery of the over, he struck a major blow by dismissing Babar Azam for a duck. Amir delivered a slower, length ball that angled across outside off and held a touch in the pitch and came up with some extra bounce. Babar came forward to drive but ended up chipping it straight to Rilee Rossouw at short cover.
Talking of the match, the Gladiators got off to a strong start with captain Saud Shakeel anchoring the innings with a composed 59, while his opening partner Finn Allen contributed a solid 53. The duo laid a steady foundation, setting the tone for a high-scoring innings.

Among Peshawar Zalmi’s bowlers, Ali Raza stood out, finishing with figures of 1 for 31 in his four overs. However, the rest of the bowling attack came under heavy fire. Mohammad Ali conceded 57 runs, while Alzarri Joseph went for 53 runs in their four-over spells.
The early breakthrough set the tone for the Gladiators, and they quickly tightened the grip and picked up three wickets in the first four overs. At the crease, Saim Ayub and Hussain Talat are now trying to rebuild and shift the momentum in Peshawar Zalmi’s favour.
