A local Indian bowler brought back memories of Sourav Ganguly’s iconic t-shirt-removing celebration at Lord’s in 2002, after nailing a perfect yorker and helping his team win the match, the bowler broke into the celebration.

As soon as he bowled the yorker, the bowler began his act by taking off his right shoe and mimicking South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi’s famous 'shoe-dial' celebration, pretending to make a phone call using his shoe. He then threw the shoe into the air, took off his vest, and waved it aggressively, similar to Ganguly’s shirtless celebration at the Lord’s balcony after India’s historic Natwest Series final win over England in 2002. The youngster then went on to imitate another popular cricket celebration, signing an imaginary notebook.

Shamsi, known for his entertaining celebrations himself, especially his ‘shoe dial’ celebration, had once explained that he kept bringing it back by popular demand from young fans. First seen during a T20I in Bengaluru against India in 2019 after dismissing Shikhar Dhawan, and repeated multiple times since.

"I packed that celebration away, but the kids keep asking me to bring it about, so I can't disappoint them. To be able to deliver under pressure against India was pleasing," the South African spinner said as quoted by NDTV Sports.
