WATCH: Ed Sheeran plays cricket with Rajasthan Royals' players

There are many instances where celebrities get involved with the game of cricket. This has helped in making the sport more global and getting a huge fan following as well. The IPL has also seen many celebrities not only enjoying the game but also having their teams with Indian Bollywood superstars Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta being some of the big names. 

Apart from Bollywood actors there have also been some Hollywood icons who have also expressed their love for cricket and one of them is none other than four-time Grammy Award-winning UK-based singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran who was involved in an interview with India skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in ‘Breakfast with Champions’ hosted by Gaurav Kapoor. The 33-year-old artist also revealed that he was a close friend with legendary Aussie leg spinner Shane Warne as well who had passed away three years ago due to a heart attack at the age of 52. 

Speaking of his admiration for Shane Warne Ed Sheeran was recently seen playing cricket with Rajasthan Royals' players which was not only the team in which Warne had won the first edition of the tournament in 2008 but also served the team as a mentor. The IPl franchise gifted Ed Sheeran Shane Warne's jersey as well. Rajasthan Royals' young star all-rounder Riyan Parag was also seen bowling to Sheeran in the video.

Rajasthan Royals performance in last three season 

The last three seasons have been great for the Rajasthan Royals where they made the finals in 2022 and though they missed out on the playoffs in 2023 they came back well last season where they finished third after losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2024.
