A fresh controversy has emerged in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025. A fan was dragged out of the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, allegedly for carrying an Indian flag.
A video has surfaced on social media, where a fan, carrying an Indian flag at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore during one of the matches in the Champions Trophy 2025, was dragged away by security personnel. In the video, two men, apparently from Pakistan's security team, snatched the Indian flag and took the fan away. This incident reportedly took place during the clash between Australia and England on Saturday, February 22.

The video, which went viral in minutes, claims that the man was beaten and arrested for carrying the Indian flag. However, there has been no confirmation regarding the reason behind the reaction of the security personnel. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not reacted to this video as yet. There is still no clarity about the person's identity. While some are saying that he is an Indian, others feel that he is a Pakistani citizen, who supports the Men in Blue.
Pakistan knocked out of Champions Trophy 2025
Pakistan are placed at the bottom of Group A, having lost consecutive matches to New Zealand and India. The Mohammad Rizwan-led side has already been knocked out of the tournament as their last game against Bangladesh, who have also been eliminated, is a mere formality. This comes as a huge blow for Pakistan cricket as they have struggled with inconsistency for quite some time, especially in ICC events.
They managed to reach the finals of the T20 World Cup in 2022. However, the Men in Green failed to progress to the knockout stage in the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup. The abrupt exit in the Champions Trophy is the latest debacle for the defending champions.
