According to the competition's rules, spectators aged 18 and above who make a clean one-handed catch off a six are awarded a share of one million rand. But if the participant is a sponsor's client the prize money doubles, as it did for this lucky individual.
Meanwhile, on the field, the game began with DSG opting to bat first after winning the toss and putting up a strong total of 209/4, thanks to Kane Williamson’s unbeaten 60 and Wiaan Mulder’s unbeaten quick-fire knock of 45 runs. The duo continued the onslaught after a quick start by Bryce Parsons (47 off 28) and Matthew Breetzke (33 off 20).
In reply, PC opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz hammered 89 runs off 43 deliveries and stitched a huge partnership with Will Jacks (64 off 35). The pair added 154 runs for the first wicket and made the game look one-sided. However, the Capitals witnessed a batting collapse after a brilliant start, as they lost six wickets for just 41 runs, falling short at 207/6. Chris Woakes and Noor Ahmad's impressive bowling spells made sure the side made a remarkable comeback, leading to a narrow two-run victory.
