One moment that continues to resonate is Virat Kohli's match-winning performance against Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on October 23. Eighteen months later, the memories of that game still follow Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf, who still gets trolled for conceding a couple of sixes in the penultimate over.
On that night at the “G”, India required 28 runs off the last eight balls. Kohli, facing Rauf in the penultimate over, smashed two spectacular sixes that turned the match for the Men in Blue. These shots not only secured India a win but also registered themselves in the history books. The impact of those sixes follows Rauf even as in different leagues around the world.
Recently, during a Major League Cricket (MLC) match in the United States, the pacer was given a reminder of that Melbourne night. As he fielded near the boundary, a fan called out, “Haris bhai, Melbourne abhi bhi yaad aata hain? Virat ke 2 chakke, yaad hai? (Do you still remember Melbourne? Virat's two sixes?)”.

Virat Kohli has a different class: Haris Rauf
Rauf acknowledged Kohli's exceptional talent a month after the World Cup. The 30-year-old called the Indian batter a class player and believes no one else could have done the same.
“That was his class and the kind of shots that he plays, and the two sixes that he hit, I don't think any other player could hit those kind of shots. Had Dinesh Karthik or Hardik Pandya hit me like that, I would have been hurt, but that was Kohli, and that's a different class,” Rauf said as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
