West Indies spinner Gudakesh Motie produced an absolute ripper on Day 1 of the second Test between Pakistan and the West Indies at the Multan Cricket Stadium by dismissing star batter Babar Azam for just one run.
The incident occurred in the seventh over of the hosts' first innings, when Motie bowled a flat and skidding delivery that kept low and was quick. Babar attempted a late cut, but the ball rushed past his bat and crashed into the off stump. The right-hander, who had been struggling for form in red-ball cricket, was dismissed for a mere one run off five balls. His wicket put Pakistan struggling at 25/2.
Babar’s struggles in the ongoing series have become a talking point. After managing only single-digit scores in the first Test, his dismissal in the ongoing Test once again highlighted his poor form. While the batter looked in fine touch in ODIs, his red-ball performances have raised questions, especially against quality spin bowling on turning tracks.

Noman Ali became first Pakistani spinner to take Test hat-trick
The game began with the tourists winning the toss and opted to bat first, but they faced a batting collapse, eventually being bowled out at 163 runs after a historic performance by Pakistan spinner Noman Ali. The left-arm became the first Pakistani spinner to take a Test hat-trick, dismissing Justin Greaves, Tevin Imlach, and Kevin Sinclair. His brilliance restricted the West Indies to a below-par score. However, Motie fought hard with a knock of 55 runs, and Jomel Warrican contributed an unbeaten 36 to cruise over 150.
In response, Pakistan faced early setbacks. Opener Muhammad Hurraira fell cheaply for nine, while Shan Masood and Baba, too, failed to anchor the innings. The side further lost the wickets of Kamran Ghulam and Saud Shakeel, putting them in a tricky position. Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan once again came to the side's rescue with his brilliance with the bat.
