Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya gifted a special bat to Gujarat Giants' Kashvee Gautam as he had promised after the Eliminator of Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025. Gautam, an all-rounder like Pandya, was fantastic for her team in the WPL as she finished with 11 wickets at an average of 18.18 from nine matches.

Notably, Pandya had promised to gift her a 1100 gram bat like the one she uses. Ahead of MI's clash against DC in Delhi, Pandya presented the signed bat to Gautam in a heartwarming moment and also congratulated her for her maiden India call-up. Gautam was elated with the gift and shook hands with the MI captain.

Mumbai Indians struggling in IPL 2025

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians are struggling to find the right combination and have lost four matches out of five in the ongoing season of IPL. This is the second season for the franchise under Pandya, and their fate has not changed after the team finished at the bottom of the table in 2024.

Speaking of their campaign this year, the team started off with a four-wicket loss against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) before losing to Gujarat Titans (GT) by 36 runs. Pandya and co. opened their account with an eight-wicket win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) but lost their next two games, against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), by an identical margin of 12 runs. They are currently placed ninth in the points table with two points, just a spot above CSK.
