Arshdeep Singh's economical spell, Mayank Yadav's fiery debut, and Varun Chakravarthy's brilliant return to the national side, suddenly took a backseat as Hardik Pandya launched one of his classy no-look shots out of nowhere. The shot was executed with India requiring just 10 to flatten the 128-run target set by Bangladesh in the first T20I of the three-match series in Gwalior.

Taskin Ahmed was on the receiving end of a cold stare by Hardik, who effortlessly guided a short delivery angling into him for a one-bounce boundary straight over the wicketkeeper's head. Normally, one would expect the batter to run or at the minimum, look at where the ball had headed to after its connection with the willow. However, Hardik did none of the above, as all he did after the effortless execution of the shot was give Taskin an ice-cold gaze. Taskin, who had already been taken to the cleaners in his previous couple of overs, took it in the right spirit as he just laughed Hardik's stunning gameplay off while making his way back at the top of his mark.

The subsequent couple of deliveries were dispatched for a four and a six, respectively, as Hardik's 16-ball 39-run knock powered India to blow away Bangladesh by seven wickets and 49 deliveries to spare.

Hardik comes good with the ball as well

Earlier in the piece, it was to everyone's surprise that the all-rounder opened the bowling instead of Mayank. His first three overs saw him conceding 23.

The 18th over of the innings which was Hardik's final one of his spell was his most economical, as the penultimate delivery saw Shoriful Islam's off-stump get pegged back to a full delivery to provide Hardik with his first dismissal of the evening.
