The Indian team is set to play the second ODI against England at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack today. While this will be a do-or-die game for England to come back in the series the Men in Blue have a chance to claim another series at home and continue their dominance in India against the Englishmen.

There will be a lot of players to watch out for in the upcoming ODI series, one of them being young pacer Harshit Rana who shined in his debut game in Nagpur with a three-wicket haul. The performance made Rana the first Indian pacer to take three-plus wickets on debut across all formats.

Though it is still early days for Rana in the blue jersey he seems to have already become a fan favourite and this was witnessed during the first match. The fans continued to cheer for the Indian players and Rana chose to surprise them in a unique and hilarious fashion. Rana threw apples towards the excited young fans which won their hearts as well. Though the fans were expecting cricket balls they didn’t seem to mind getting hold of the apples.

Rana impresses in his first two international white-ball games

Rana first came on to the white-ball scene in the fourth T20I at Pune against the England side where he came in as a concussion substitute for Shivam Dube. He took the responsibility of the middle and death overs taking important wickets in the game and ending with great figures of 3/33 in his four overs.

In the first ODI at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) stadium, he showed resilience as well where even after being smacked for 26 runs in his third over by Phil Salt he still came back for a second spell and ended up as one of the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/53 in the seven overs he bowled in the game.
