The Boxing Day Test at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) has once again become a fierce platform between India and Australia earlier on opening day. The intensity by the Indians was on full display as star batter Virat Kohli asked his teammates to not talk to Aussie batters.
The incident occurred when Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja, were at the crease. Following a brief exchange between Labuschagne and Mohammed Siraj Kolhi's comments were captured on the stump microphone. Siraj and Labuschagne have already had some exchanges in the series, but this time they had a friendly chat, and Kohli was heard saying, "Has ke baat nahi karna inse," (Don't talk to them laughingly).

Virat Kohli engages in a shoulder push with Sam Konstas
The day began with Australian skipper Pat Cummins electing to bat first, and the decision paid dividends as debutant Sam Konstas delivered a brilliant half-century off just 52 balls. However, it wasn’t just his batting that grabbed eyeballs. Konstas and Kohli engaged in a heated altercation after a casual shoulder bump which escalated into an animated verbal exchange, requiring intervention from umpires and fellow players.
The former Indian captain clashed with Konstas after the debutant attempted to ramp Bumrah consistently. Although Konstas’ innings were impressive, he eventually fell victim to Ravindra Jadeja's bowling. Meanwhile at the time of writing the score is at 155/2 after 46.3 overs with Labuschagne and Smith on the field against the Indian bowlers and looking to guide their side to a strong first-innings total.
