England spinner Adil Rashid displayed his class by dismissing star all-rounder Hardik Pandya right after being hit for two consecutive sixes in the third ODI between India and England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
In Rashid’s final over of the day, the Baroda-born decided to take him on, smashing back-to-back sixes. The first six came off a tossed-up delivery outside off, which Pandya smacked over deep extra cover for a 98-meter hit. In the next delivery, Rashid adjusted his line to leg-stump, but Pandya stepped out again, creating room to loft it over long-off for another six.
However, in the final ball of his over, Rashid delivered a leg-spinner’s dream ball, which drifted towards the leg stump, deceiving the right-hander in the air, and turned it sharply past his outside edge to crash into the top of the off-stump. Pandya's inning was short-lived as he departed after scoring 17 off just nine balls.

The third ODI of the series saw the visitors putting the hosts into bat after winning the toss. The Men in Blue had a disappointing start, losing skipper Rohit Sharma in the second over, but a solid 116-run stand between Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli stabilised the innings.
Gill went on to register his seventh ODI hundred before falling to Rashid, while Kohli, after a sublime fifty, also became a victim of the English leg-spinner. The 36-year-old then picked the wicket of Shreyas Iyer who was batting on 78.
Meanwhile, India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead coming into the third and final fixture of the series.
