Rohit Sharma returned to form in scintillating style in the second ODI against England as he scored a majestic century in Cuttack. However, he couldn't build on the spectacular innings as he was dismissed for one run off two balls in the third ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, February 12.

After India lost their 10th consecutive toss in the ODI format, England decided to bowl first. The Indian captain got off the mark off the first ball of the innings as he flicked Saqib Mahmood towards mid-on for a brisk single. Mark Wood came onto bowl the second over and gave England the breakthrough off the first delivery.

The England seamer bolwed a peach of a delivery in the corridor of uncertainty at 142 kph. The ball straightened after pitching and forced Rohit into playing a defensive shot. However, the Mumbai batter was caught on the crease and all he managed was to get a thick outside edge behind. Phil Salt dived to his right to take a sharp catch as England got off to a dream start.

Mohammed Shami, Ravindra Jadeja rested in third ODI

Mohammed Shami played the first two ODIs and picked up one wicket. He made a comeback in the format for the first time since the ODI World Cup 2023 final. As the Bengal pacer is recovering from a major injury, the team management is trying its best not to put his body under too much pressure. He is one of the two players rested in the third ODI.
