The squad's homecoming saw them getting an emotional and grand reception at Bengaluru's airport, where family members, friends, and well-wishers were present to celebrate the team's success.
The reception at the Bengaluru airport saw players sharing happy moments with their loved ones and the supporters who had gathered to celebrate their remarkable achievements. In just two years, Niki Prasad's team has successfully defended the title.
Indian spinners dismantled South African batting line-up
India's domination in the tournament was seen from the start. The team won all their group-stage matches before securing their place in the final against South Africa. In the final, which took place at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, South Africa's decision to bat first backfired. The Indian spinners, including Gongadi Trisha, Vaishnavi Sharma, Parunika Sisodia, and Aayushi Shukla, ensured South Africa never got going. The opposition could only score a mere 82 runs, with Mieke van Voorst contributing with 23.
Trisha’s brilliance saw her ending with a three-wicket haul for just 15 runs in four overs. The Indian women quickly chased down the target, with Trisha and Sanika Chalke taking the responsibility upon themselves. Trisha’s unbeaten 44 off 33 balls guided India to a comfortable nine-wicket victory in just 11.2 overs, with Chalke supporting well, remaining not out on 26.

Trisha became the first-ever batter to score a century in the U19 Women's T20 World Cup, having made an unbeaten 110 against Scotland in the group stages.
