Ashutosh Sharma and Mukesh Kumar were involved in a nasty collision while attempting to hold onto a catch during the second delivery of the 19th over of Match 29 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. A full ball angled across Mohit Sharma's delivery was sliced by Tilak Varma.

The ball looped towards the backward point region where Ashutosh from point and Mukesh at square third man converged to crash directly into each other, with the ball trickling towards the third man fence. Ashutosh seemed to have hurt his mouth and ankle, while Mukesh was seen clutching his shoulder.

The physios attended to Ashutosh in the dugout while Mukesh soldiered on to bowl the final over of the innings. The right-arm medium pacer ended up conceding 11 runs in the final over of the innings. He ended up with figures of 1/38 in four overs. MI ended up their innings at 205/5.

Earlier in the evening, DC won the toss and opted to field first. Tilak top-scored with 59 to his name. His impressive knock off 33 deliveries comprised six fours and three sixes. A couple of 40s from Ryan Rickelton (41 off 25) and Suryakumar Yadav (40 off 28) proved vital too. A late surge by Naman Dhir (38* off 17) provided the much-needed impetus in favour of MI.

As far as the hosts are concerned, Kuldeep Yadav proved out to be the pick of the bowlers (2/23 in four overs). The left-arm wrist-spinner bowled a total of 11 dot balls in his entire spell. Mitchell Starc proved to be quite expensive in the three overs he bowled. The Australian left-arm pacer conceded 43 runs in three overs. Mohit also bowled the same number of overs as Starc, leaking 40 in his overs.
