[Watch] IPL 2025: Digvesh Rathi does 'notebook' celebration with a twist after dismissing 'idol' Sunil Narine

Digvesh Rathi snagged the big wicket of his idol Sunil Narine during Match 21 of IPL 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants at the Eden Gardens. Digvesh went on to execute his trademark "write-off" celebration with a twist, as he  this time on the turf rather than his hand though.

Narine threw his bat at a googly outside the off stump but could only find Aiden Markram at long-off. The shot wasn't the most powerful, with Narine having to depart after a quick 30 off just 13. Narine was the second KKR wicket which LSG secured.

For the unversed, Divesh had also been fined twice - 25% and 50% of his match fees - handed one and two demerit points - for his "writing off the noteboo" celebration in the previous two games.

Meanwhile, Digvesh had recently revealed that Narine was his idol. He lauded the veteran for his bowling technique, presense of mind, and attacking intent. 

“I’m really enjoying it. I like to get batters out. I watched Sunil Narine bowl and from that time I took to bowling. I want to make my mindset more attacking, want to be like Narine, on how he stays calm even during pressure situations,” Digvesh had said in the post-match presentation after being named Player of the Match against Mumbai Indians.
