The IPL 2025 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium witnessed a bizarre and unlucky moment when Heinrich Klaasen was run out at the non-striker’s end during the first innings. The South African batter, who was looking to build SRH’s innings after early wickets, had to walk back after Prince Yadav’s reflex action led to an accidental dismissal.
Opting to field first, LSG hoped to make an early impact against SRH’s destructive top order. Their plan worked early on, as Shardul Thakur produced a crucial double blow, removing Abhishek Sharma for 6 and Ishan Kishan for a golden duck in the third over. However, Travis Head played a counter-attacking innings, smashing 47 off 28 balls before Prince rattled his stumps, claiming his maiden IPL wicket.
Just when it looked like SRH was getting back into control, LSG luckily picked a wicket. In the 12th over, Nitish Reddy smashed a firm drive straight back at Prince. Attempting a low catch, the pacer couldn’t hold on, but the ball deflected off his hand and crashed into the stumps at the non-striker’s end. Klaasen was caught outside his crease and had to depart for 26 off 17 balls after smashing two boundaries and one six. Prince, despite hurting his hand in the process, celebrated the wicket before receiving medical attention.

Notably, both teams entered this match with different results. SRH, who posted 286 against the Rajasthan Royals in their last game and won the game convincingly. On the other hand, LSG are looking to bounce back from their defeat to Delhi Capitals, where they threw away a winning position due to Ashutosh Sharma’s late flourish.
