[Watch] IPL 2025: MS Dhoni arrives in Chandigarh amid ongoing talks of retirement

MS Dhoni was spotted making his way out of Chandigarh airport amidst speculations going around in relation to the marquee player's retirement from the Indian Premier League. Chennai Super Kings are slated to take on Punjab Kings in Mullanpur on Tuesday, April 8.

Dhoni led the way out of the arrivals terminal when it came to the entire CSK unit touching down in Chandigarh for their upcoming game against PBKS. The IPL icon was spotted flanked by security personnel while making his way out of the gate.

The buzz around the former CSK skipper's future in the cash-rich league was initiated during CSK's 25-run loss against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, April 5. Dhoni's wife, film producer Sakshi Dhoni, was captured talking to their daughter and supposedly saying 'last match'. This particular moment was snapped by the broadcasters, making many presume she was referring to Dhoni's future in the IPL.

CSK's head coach, Stephen Fleming, remained extremely tight-lipped when it came to speaking during the post-match press conference on Saturday. He had made it clear that there were no decisions related to retirement that had been made with the joint-most successful captain of the league.

Dhoni's latest unbeaten 30-run knock against DC at the MA Chidambaram Stadium was met with quite some criticism by commentators and fans alike. A significant chunk of the cricket fraternity has thought that Dhoni should hang up his boots as soon as possible, in a bid to safeguard his legacy as an IPL great.

The Men in Yellow have had quite a slow start to their season. After winning their opening game of the season against Mumbai Indians, CSK have ended up getting defeated on three occasions on the trot. The next few games will be quite crucial for the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side.
