Nicholas Pooran took Tristan Stubbs to the cleaners during the 13th over of Match 4 of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants on Monday, Match 24. The swashbuckling southpaw absolutely tore into the part-timer to account for 28 runs off his over during the ongoing game at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Stubbs' outing with the ball was quite a forgettable one. Apart from the first delivery, which was a dot ball, he was launched for a total of four powerful sixes in a row. The over ended with the aggressive left-handed batter drilling the ball down the ground.

It was the second maximum off Stubbs, which brought up a belligerent half-century by Pooran. It was his 10th half-century in the league. Pooran was looking all set for a mind-boggling century. However, he was dismissed by Mitchell Starc for an entertaining 30-ball 75. His scintillating knock comprised six fours and seven maximums.

Earlier in the evening, it was the Axar Patel-led DC who won the toss and opted to field first. It turned out to be a decision that they would end up regretting, as the LSG batting unit turned up the heat from the get-go. Mitchell Marsh went hammer and tongs to bring up his half-century in just 21 deliveries. The second wicket of LSG fell in the 12th over, with the Australian all-rounder departing for a 72-run spectacle.
