[WATCH] IPL 2025: Rohit Sharma sent packing for duck by Khaleel Ahmed during CSK vs MI game

Mumbai Indians' (MI) former skipper Rohit Sharma departed for a duck against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the third match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Rohit's struggle with the form continued as he was dismissed on the fourth ball of the game, without adding a run. CSK's debutant Khaleel Ahmed did the trick with the ball to send the 37-year-old batter back to the pavilion.

The star cricketer faced the first three deliveries of the game and looked a bit surprised with the way the ball came into the bat. After bowling three different lengths, Khaleel chose an in swinger on the pads, forcing Rohit to play the flick shot. However, much to his surprise, the ball went straight to Shivam Dube, who was standing at short mid-wicket. Dube didn't make a mistake, and Rohit had to eventually make the long walk back, giving CSK their first breakthrough.

It was CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad who won the toss and formed MI to bat first. Interestingly, MI captain Suryakumar Yadav mentioned that he was happy to bat first as the wicket looked. However, it doesn't look for MI as they have lost three early wickets, as of writing. 

Who has the upper hand: CSK or MI?

The contest between CSK and MI is known as El Clásico for a reason. Both teams have had some interesting matches against each other over the years. Moreover, after losing the 2010 finals against CSK, MI haven't lost a single game in the finals post that. Both teams have played a fine game of cricket in the league, and that is why this is an epic rivalry.

But since 2021, the Chennai-based side has had an upper hand on MI because out of seven games played, Men in Yellow have won five. This game is going on at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, the home ground for CSK. Plus, they have some quality bowlers in the team as well, which makes it interesting to see the game's result.
