The Mumbai-based franchise, chasing a target of 197, had a shaky start as Mohammed Siraj struck twice in the powerplay, removing Rohit Sharma (8 off 4) and Ryan Rickelton (6 off 9). Tilak Varma and Suryakumar steadied the innings with a crucial 62-run partnership, but Prasidh dismissed Varma for 39 off 36 balls in the 12th over.
Meanwhile, the incident took place in the first bowl of the 14th over, the Mumbai batter attempted one of his signature ramp shots but misjudged the slower bouncer from the pacer. The ball got the top edge of his glove and hit his helmet. Suryakmar immediately fell flat on the ground, causing a major injury concern. MI skipper Hardik Pandya, along with Mohammed Siraj and other players, rushed to check on him. The team physio and medical team quickly attended to the batter, who, after a brief time, was back on his feet.
