Ishant Sharma got involved in a verbal scuffle with Ashutosh Sharma at the end of the 19th over of the first innings during the ongoing clash between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday, April 19. The incident occurred during the over break, ahead of the commencement of the final over of DC's innings.

Notably, Ishant was agitated after the umpire did not move and he felt that the DC batter had got some bat in an intended attempt of pulling a short delivery to the fence. However, the Titans could not challenge the decision, having exhausted their reviews.

Later, the replays confirmed that the ball had not touched any part of the willow. In an attempt to cool Ishant down, Ashutosh even ended up rolling up his sleeve to show his shoulder on which the ball had struck.

Meanwhile, DC ended their innings on a score of 203/8 after being sent in to bat first. Skipper, Axar Patel, top-scored with 39 off 32 deliveries. Ashutosh was one of the four batters to end up scoring in the 30-40 range. The 26-year-old was dismissed on the penultimate delivery of the final over after a momentum-boosting 19-ball 37-run knock. Karun Nair (31 off 18) and Tristan Stubbs (31 off 21) also contributed with the bat.

As for GT, Ishant was the pick of the lot. He ended up with excellent figures of 1/19 in three overs. The trio of Mohammed Siraj, Arshad Khan, and Prasidh Krishna conceded 134 runs in their 12 overs combined. Prasidh, however, ended up securing a four-wicket haul. Sai Kishore was held back till the final over of the innings. He ended up conceding only nine runs.

GT require 204 to notch their fifth win of IPL 2025 and climb up to the top of the points table.
