[Watch] IPL 2025: Travis Head whacks Jofra Archer for massive six over deep midwicket
Archer's entry into the attack was greeted with relentless hostility.
The second delivery of Jofra Archer's first over of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League was dispatched with utter disdain by Travis Head during Sunrisers Hyderabad's clash against Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday, March 23.
A ball after welcoming the Englishman to the crease with a scorching boundary, Head obliterated a shortish delivery on the middle stump which went soaring towards the deep midwicket region. It was a thunderous heave of the Southpaw's willow. The ball went deep into the stands, landing amongst the fervent supporters in the second deck of the venue.

66RR opted to field after winning the toss. The opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Head were off to a blistering start from the outset. The first over of the game was bowled by former SRH pacer, Fazalhaq Farooqi. It yielded 10 runs. Abhishek's party did not last long though.
Maheesh Theekshana, entering his second over inside the powerplay, got rid of the Indian top-order batter with Yashasvi Jaiswal comfortably accepting the opportunity at cover point. The freshly-acquired Ishan Kishan spoiled Theekshana's over though, with the Sri Lankan conceding 10 runs in his second.

At the moment, SRH are cruising along. They have racked up a score of 135 for the loss of two wickets at the halfway stage. A steep run chase could be very well on the cards if the home side's batters continue to wreak havoc in the middle. Both sides will be aiming to get off to a winning start as far as the current season is concerned.
