Varun Chakravarthy mimicked KL Rahul's "this is my home ground" celebration after Kolkata Knight Riders cruised to an eight-wicket victory against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, April 11. A splendid bowling display by Chakravarthy in the first innings of the game was one of the reasons which set up the win for KKR.
Chakravarthy hilariously unleashed the celebration while his side's members were embracing one another after KKR aced the 104-run chase by emerging victorious with 59 deliveries to spare. Notably, Rahul had pulled off the celebration a day prior to the CSK-KKR game after wrapping up the match with a superlative 93-run knock off just 53 deliveries against RCB in Bengaluru.

KKR completely bulldozed past CSK in what was an utterly comprehensive performance from the defending champions. Their eight-wicket win meant it was the first time the Men in Yellow incurred five consecutive losses in the IPL. The 59-ball margin was the biggest margin of defeat for the five-time champions in terms of balls remaining.
As far as Rahul's case is concerned, he represented Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2013 and 2016. The elegant wicketkeeper-batter registered 397 runs in 12 innings at a strike rate of 146.49. He missed the 2017 edition due to a shoulder injury, and wasn't retained for the subsequent edition in 2018. This came as quite a surprise for Rahul's supporters, who felt RCB should have backed him.

KKR's next encounter is scheduled to be against Punjab Kings at the Mullanpur Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, April 15. In the six IPL 2025 games they have played so far, KKR have won three and and lost as many. They would be keen to notch up their performance as far as the remainder of the tournament is concerned.
