Sunrisers Hyderabad's Ishan Kishan was spotted in marauding form with the bat during the franchise's intra-squad practice games ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

The franchise posted a snippet of his fiery 24-ball 64 and 30-ball 73*-run knocks on their official X account. From the short clip itself, Kishan looked at ease against both spinners and pacers dismissing almost every ball coming at him with silky finesse.

Kishan was added to the SRH unit at the two-day mega auction in Jeddah in November last year. After being released by Mumbai Indians ahead of the event, the left-handed top-order batter was snapped by the Orange Army for INR 11.25 crore. With the manner in which Kishan was striking the ball in the video, he could pose a significant competition to the already-established opening duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma.

The 26-year-old southpaw is no newcomer to the IPL. IPL 2025 will be his 10th season in the marquee 20-over league. Having played for the now-defunct Gujarat Lions in 2016 and 2017, he became a part of the MI unit in the 2018 edition. Since then, he has played several impactful innings for the joint-most successful franchise in the league. Ahead of the upcoming season, Kishan has scored a total of 2,644 runs at a strike rate of 135.86.

SRH had finished runners-up in the previous edition. After a stellar run to the final, they fell well short against Kolkata Knight Riders. Kishan's form will be crucial for the one-time winners to go a step ahead this time around. SRH will once again be led by Pat Cummins, however, it is not clear if he will be fit for the first match. Their opening game of the season is a home fixture against Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, scheduled for Sunday, March 23.
