Jasprit Bumrah continued his purple patch in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 as he dismissed Usman Khawaja in his second over in Australia's second innings on Day 5 at The Gabba in Brisbane.
After India were bowled out for 260 in their first innings, the players had to wait in their dressing rooms as rain forced the umpires to call for an early Lunch break. In the second session, Bumrah bowled an absolute peach of a delivery to get the better of Khawaja. Bowling from around the wicket, the in-form pacer pitched the ball on a good length, angling back into off-stump.
The Australian opener was stuck in his crease and had a big gap between bat and pad. Bumrah's delivery went past the inside edge and flicked a bit of the back pad before crashing into the top of the off-stump.

Khawaja got out to Bumrah for the fourth time in five innings in the ongoing series. His average is a paltry 4.25 against the Indian vice-captain.
India take five quick wickets to spice things up
Australia came out with a positive mindset, having a first-innings lead of 185. However, the move backfired as they lost half their side for 33 runs in 11 overs. After getting Khawaja's wicket, Bumrah followed it up by sending Marnus Labuschagne back to the hut.

Akash Deep came in as the first change bowler and took the wickets of Nathan McSweeney and Mitchell Marsh. Mohammed Siraj came back for his second spell and accounted for the big wicket of Steve Smith. At 33/5, Australia's lead was only 218. The tourists would want to dismiss the Australian lower-order in quick time and give themselves a great chance of registering what could be one of their most famous wins.
