India won their third (one shared with Sri Lanka) Champions Trophy on Sunday, March 9 in Dubai. The Men in Blue beat the BlackCaps by four wickets to clinch the 2025 Champions Trophy title.

Rohit came out firing against the new ball and put the New Zealand bowlers under pressure as they chased a score of 252 on a challenging wicket.  He needed just 41 balls to reach his half-century.  The Indian captain blasted three sixes and seven fours before being removed for 76 off 83 deliveries.  In the ninth Champions Trophy, this was Rohit's first half-century.

In a viral video, after the win, when all the players were on the field celebrating the victory, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) Chairman Jay Shah was seen hugging Shreyas Iyer and later winking at the camera. This has generated a lot of reactions from the fans on social media, some are calling him a "script writer."

Every time Team India is playing a tournament, fans come up with memes that Jay Shah, being the Chairman of BCCI, will do some magic in favour of India. The same thing happened on Sunday after India's four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the 2025 Champions Trophy finals.

Chasing a target of 252 runs, Rohit Sharma played one of the finest knocks in the history of Champions Trophy finals as his blazing half-century led the Indian team to a four-wicket victory in the tournament. Notably, the Rohit Sharma-led side had gone unbeaten in the tournament as they beat Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand from their group and then defeated Australia in the semifinals. They again beat New Zealand in the finals to clinch the title.
