In the sixth game of the IPL 2025 between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Jofra Archer hit a maximum on the first ball of his innings. He didn't stop there, smashing another six off Spencer Johnson in the next over. The second one went even further, and the Aussie pacer was left baffled by Archer's stroke-play.
Archer's small cameo of 16 runs in 7 balls took the team to 151-9 in the first innings. Despite getting a good start, RR's batting order was dismantled in the middle overs as they lost quick wickets. It was Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson who started the innings, and then was continued by Riyan Parag. Soon after their wickets, the others kept falling like a pack of cards. Only Dhruv Jurel showed some resistance with his 33, and also top-scored for RR. As a result, Archer's blow towards the fag end were nothing short of a blessing for the Royals.

KKR's Quinton de Kock was just outstanding with the bat, hitting an unbeaten 97 runs in the run-chase. The player made sure to finish off the game. He was there from the start but maintained his balance really well. Towards the end, he got support from young Angkrish Raghuvanshi as they went on to win the match by eight wickets.

Nice to get an opportunity: de Kock
For a spectacular performance, the South Africa international also received the Player of the Match award. At the presentation, he spoke about how the three-month break helped him and what he did after joining the team. Today's knock proved that the stumper-batter is more than an asset in their batting line-up.
"Nice to get my opportunity, wanted to make it count. To be fair, haven't felt any challenges yet. Have had 3 months off which felt nice. Had about a 10 day build-up to this season. Only my second game here, just taking it as I see it," he said at the post-match presentation.
