Watch: Local man refuses to give ball smashed for six in TNPL 2024 game

Tamil Nadu Premier League 2024 has reached its business end and the fans have started occupying stands for the playoff phase of the tournament. Not only the spectators at the stadium but a fan has garnered immense attention for his antics outside the stadium. During the 27th game between Chepauk Super Gillies and Siechem Madurai Panthers, the batter smashed the ball out of the park and the local guy refused to give the ball back.
The incident occurred during the fifth ball of the 12th over as Panther’s J Kousik bowled a short delivery and D Santhosh Kumar smoked it way over the park with a clean pull. The ball sailed for a long time before finally landing near a field. The individual roaming around the NPR College Ground Stadium in Dindigul picked up the leather and refused to give it back with an animated demeanour.

Playoffs tussle begins at TNPL 2024
Talking about TNPL 2024, the tournament has become one of the most sought-after state leagues. In the current edition, Lyca Kovai Kings, Tiruppur Tamizhans, Chepauk Super Gillies, and Dindigul Dragons have made it to the playoffs. Kovai Kings are perched atop the table with six wins in seven games and are followed by Tamizhans who are on the second spot with four wins in seven games.

Kovai Kings and Tiruppur Tamizhans will clash in the Qualifier 1 on July 30 at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul. The winner will straightaway walk into the finals, played on August 4 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and the loser will have one more go at the trophy on August 2 in Qualifier 2, owing to cementing the top two spots in league stages.
