MI had won the toss and opted to bowl first. Chasing a mammoth target, MI showed resilience with Naman Dhir scoring a solid 46 and Suryakumar Yadav keeping hopes alive with a fluent 67 off 43 balls. Captain Hardik Pandya, who had earlier starred with the ball by claiming a brilliant five-wicket haul, tried to anchor the chase but fell short in the final overs. Among LSG’s bowlers, Digvesh Rathi stood out with a remarkable spell, conceding just 21 runs in his four overs and picking up a crucial wicket at an impressive economy rate of 5.2.
After the match, Rohit Sharma, who missed the fixture with a knee injury, was seen joking with LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka. With a big smile, Rohit quipped, “Sir, why worry when you have Lord?”, humorously referring to Shardul Thakur.
