WATCH: Martin Guptill tears into Daniel Christian, shatters glass of commentary box with fourth consecutive six
Guptill continued on his brilliant run with the bat as he smashed his way to a stupendous 29-ball 68 against the Manipal Tigers in LLC 2024.
Former New Zealand top-order batter, Martin Guptill, was at his combative best while featuring for the Southern Super Stars against the Manipal Tigers at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat in Match 11 of the 2024 edition of the Legends League Cricket.
The ninth over of the Super Stars' innings is when all hell broke loose with Guptill having a solid bite of Daniel Christian, smashing him for four towering sixes on the trot, the last of which left the glass of the commentary box in a shattered state. A length delivery in the slot was dispatched on one leg by Guptill as the ball sailed over the umpire's headway into the stands, going through the glass which not only left the commentators stunned, but also the dugout of the Super Stars who seemed to relish every bit of the action.
What followed the fourth six was a boundary accompanied by a double, as a 30-run over completely shifted the momentum towards the Super Stars in a game that was shortened to a 15-overs-a-side contest due to rain.

Tigers' top-order fails as Christian and Perera's efforts go in vain
The Tigers had an uphill task of chasing 195 in their quota of 15 overs. Barring Robin Uthappa who scored a quickfire 17, all Saurabh Tiwary, Amit Verma, and Angelo Perera could manage amongst themselves were five runs.
Christian and Thisara Perera, both of whom were given only the solitary over by Harbhajan Singh, tried their level best during their time in the middle. However, their respective blitzes of 36 and 37 weren't enough as they got dismissed themselves.
The Super Stars won the game by 42 runs, which meant they were right on the top of the table, winning all four of the games in their ongoing LLC 2024 campaign.
