The Karnataka’s domestic T20 league, Maharaja Trophy 2024 is going on and several players have shown their prowess with some notable performances. But the India cricketer, Mayank Agarwal, who also leads the Bengaluru Blasters team in the league, has displayed an underwhelming performance. Agarwal entered the Match 16 against Mangalore Dragons, only to register a golden duck for a second consecutive time.
Previously, the right-handed batter accrued the same fate against the Hubli Tigers. This time, Agarwal entered the fray to face just the third ball of the innings. Abhilash Shetty bowled a fuller delivery that took a healthy edge off the bat and safely settled in the hands of the wicket-keeper. Although the veteran’s form with the bat is a concern, his team has been in a rollicking form. Before the game against Dragons, they have won three out of four games and are in the third spot in the points table.
Here’s the video of Agarwal’s dismissal:

Blasters middle order succumbs against Dragons
Out of the top four batters in the Blasters’ lineup, Agarwal and Naveen MG departed without scoring. While Bhuvan Raju contributed just two runs, opener, LR Chethan scored 30 runs to balance things out. Other notable contributions came at the hands of number six and seven batters. Suraj Ahuja scored 38 off 25 and Kranthi Kumar trudged back after getting run-out on 39 off 28. Blasters huffed and puffed their way to a decent 144 in 20 overs.
On the other hand, the Dragons are in desperate need of a win. Led by Shreyas Gopal, they have just one game having played four with their last game getting washed out due to rain. They have occupied the second last position in the points table and they have created themselves a chance to topple one the top three teams in Match 16.
