After winning the Test series against Bangladesh by 2-0, India aim to clinch the T20I series. Lucknow Super Giants' and Sunrisers Hyderabad's sensations Mayank Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy debuted for India in the first T20I against Bangladesh.
After winning the toss, T20Is skipper Suryakumar Yadav chose to bowl against the visitors where they bowled the Bangladesh team out for 127 runs with one ball to spare. The debutant Mayank Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Washington Sundar took one wicket each, Varun Chakravarthy with 3 wickets, Arshdeep Singh with 3 wickets and 14 runs led him to win the Man of the Match.
BCCI posted a video of the debutants Mayank Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy sharing their feelings on playing their first India match. They shared what playing for the national team means to them. Mayank Yadav made headlines in Indian Cricket during the Indian Premier League 2024.
"It's a very great moment to play after coming from my injury. I was very nervous this time but I kept telling myself not to be nervous, When I got to know that I would be playing my first match, the complete flashback of the last four months came in front of my eyes," Yadav said. "For any cricketer playing for India is a big moment Playing for the side of Indian cricket is a dream come true. Obviously, the nervousness is there but I enjoy the nervousness because of the pressure situation. It is a very proud moment for me and my family as well, Nitish Kumar Reddy shared."

Yadav grabbed everybody's attention despite playing just four matches in the season. On the other hand, the 21-year-old Nitish Kumar Reddy became the Emerging Player of the Season in IPL 2024. The all-rounder played a crucial role in Sunrisers Hyderabad's lineup.
The 22-year-old Mayank Yadav became the fastest bowler for India when he bowled at the speed of 156.7kmph while playing for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2024. On the other hand, seam all-rounder Reddy has been a part of the T20I squad but his injuries always held him back.
