WATCH: Mohammed Siraj net training session for Ranji Trophy clash following India snub
Siraj is set to participate in the Ranji game for Hyderabad against Vidarbha.
India recently announced their squads for the upcoming England series and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. One exclusion in the team name that took almost everyone by surprise was that of star pacer Mohammed Siraj. Having been a regular in the India matches of late, Siraj's snub from the squad has allowed for the inclusion of Arshdeep Singh in the team.
Although it is natural for Siraj to feel degraded after being ignored for the show-piece event, the move hasn't degraded his work ethic, as the seamer is set to feature in a domestic clash. Notably, Siraj has been added to Hyderabad's squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy game against Vidarbha, which begins on January 30 at the VCA Ground in Nagpur.
In a bid to prepare himself for the important match, Siraj was seen practising at Gymkhana Ground in Hyderabad on Tuesday, January 21. The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA)'s official 'X' handle shared a clip of the India pacer grinding it hard in the nets. The video has gone viral on social media.

Speaking of Siraj's first-class records, the cricketer has featured in 76 matches since his debut against the Services in 2015, and has scalped 260 wickets, boasting an average of 26.10 so far. In the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Siraj was India's second-best bowler after Jasprit Bumrah. The Hyderabad-born took 20 wickets in five matches across the series, including best figures of 4/98. Unfortunately for Siraj, he was dropped after this performance.
With his next Ranji match, will be playing his first domestic tournament since the last edition of the Duleep Trophy, where he was initially named for the latter rounds, but had to withdraw owing to a niggle, which came ahead of the series against Bangladesh.
