Travis Head was in marauding form against India on Day 2 of the second Test at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. After Steven Smith got out, it was Head and Marnus Labuschagne’s partnership that saved the day for the hosts. They stitched a 65-run stand for the fourth wicket, As soon as Labuschagne got out scoring 64 runs, the southpaw kept churning out boundaries.
Though he was dropped by Mohammed Siraj off Ravichandran Ashwin, he made use of the lifeline to get to his century. He was looking lethal batting at 140 runs in as many balls, it was Siraj who eventually got him dismissed. The right-arm pacer came over the wicket and bowled a dipping full-toss delivery as Head was deceived by the pace.
The stumps were rattled and an agitated Siraj waved the Australian batter to trudge back to the dressing room. Understandably, Head was not so welcoming of the gesture and there was a heated exchange between the two players. It is worth noting that, in his almost run-a-ball knock, he smashed 17 boundaries and four maximums and ended up with a strike rate of 99.29.
Here’s the video of Siraj’s send-off to Head:
