Watch: MS Dhoni insists Sanju Samson to sign bat as heartwarming fanboy moment unfolds at event

On February 19, a video posted on Twitter warmed the hearts of many a cricket fan. At an event, MS Dhoni was requested to sign a bat as a memorabilia. Sanju Samson, who was alongside Dhoni, was later approached by an official next to him to sign the same bat. However, Sanju refused to do it, in all probability out of love, admiration and respect for Dhoni.

But Dhoni overruled Samson and convinced him to sign the bat. It was a heartening swap between two cricketers.

This picture perfect moment truly beholds the essence of mutual admiration and respect in the cricketing world. Sanju’s admiration and awe for Dhoni is a no secret, and his initial hesitation to sign the bat on which Dhoni did shows a true testimonial to the enormous respect he holds for the former Indian captain. But Dhoni, ever the mentor and leader, made sure that alongside his own, Sanju’s signature found its rightful place.  

Dhoni gears up for IPL 2025

The IPL schedule was released on February 16 and Chennai Super Kings play their first match against their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians at home on March 23. It is, however, not sure how much of a role Dhoni, 43, would play in the upcoming edition. Given his age and past injuries, it is a question which would be on CSK fans' minds.

Meanwhile, the IPL 2025 kicks off on March 22 with a match between KKR and RCB at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
