Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are gearing up to play Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2024 at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 8, Monday. Ahead of the highly anticipated showdown, former CSK captain MS Dhoni has been seen sweating it out at the nets.
Notably, the Ranchi-born showcased his batting prowess twice in the ongoing IPL season. In the clash against Delhi Capitals, he blazed all guns with an unbeaten 37 off just 16 balls, featuring four boundaries and three maximums. However, in their subsequent match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the 42-year-old could only face a couple of deliveries, scoring a run. It's worth noting that Chennai suffered defeats in both games.
In a video posted by IPL on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Dhoni showed glimpses of his vintage form, unleashing some colossal sixes during his net practice session. The senior pro was spotted flawlessly hitting sixes against pace and spin with effortless ease, indicating that the veteran wicketkeeper-batter was in sublime touch.

CSK aims to halt KKR's winning streak in IPL 2024
The team led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, who kick-started their campaign on a high note, has recently suffered back-to-back defeats. Despite the mishaps, they currently hold the fourth position in the IPL 2024 points table, having accumulated four points. The five-time champions will be eager for an enhanced performance in the upcoming match.

Conversely, KKR are coming on the back of three victories in as many games. The Shreyas Iyer-led side stands as one of the two undefeated sides in the ongoing tournament, trailing only behind Rajasthan Royals in the table. The two-time champions will strive to extend their impressive winning streak when they face off against the Yellow Army.
