The 30th match of the 2025 IPL season between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is currently underway at Lucknow, with both teams showcasing competitive cricket and maintaining a fine balance between runs and wickets.
In the final over of the first innings, Matheesha Pathirana took charge of the bowling for CSK. At the crease for LSG were skipper Rishabh Pant and Abdul Samad. The second delivery of the over, bowled to Samad, strayed down the leg side and was signaled as a wide. Pant called for a quick single using that moment.
However, Samad was slightly slow to respond and ended up just short of his crease. Veteran wicketkeeper MS Dhoni, known for his sharp reflexes, collected the ball and calmly tossed an underarm throw to the bowler’s end. His accuracy resulted in a brilliant run-out, catching Samad just short of the crease in a top piece of fielding.

LSG concluded their innings at 166 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Skipper Rishabh Pant was the standout performer with the bat, scoring a fluent 63 off 49 balls, including four boundaries and four sixes.
On the bowling front for CSK, Ravindra Jadeja delivered a crucial spell, conceding just 24 runs in his three overs and picking up two wickets. Matheesha Pathirana also chipped in with two wickets, while Noor Ahmad bowled an exceptionally economical spell, finishing with figures of 4-0-13-0, maintaining an impressive economy rate of just 3.20.
Meanwhile, CSK will aim to chase this target as quick as possible and gain two points in the table and get back to winning ways.
