The Champions Trophy has begun and it has been a great opening in Karachi at the National Stadium. This was the first time Pakistan was hosting the Champions Trophy and it has been a long time since they hosted a big cricketing event since 1996 during the ODI World Cup which they co-hosted with India and Sri Lanka.
The opening started with a bang as just before the start of the game there was an air show that took place which featured the famous Pakistan air troupe known as ‘Sherdils’. These were beautiful scenes as the troupe celebrated the start of the event as they flew with Pakistan's National colours coming out from the aircraft. This was a treat for the fans who enjoyed the show and started taking videos of the pilots as they flew over the stadium and put on a great show.
Though they captivated the fans it took the Kiwi players by surprise who were startled as soon as the troupe flew over the venue. Kiwi Opener Devon Conway was seen taking evasive action as soon as he heard the troupe's sound while Glenn Philips and Mark Chapman also gave surprised reactions in the following clip. Certain fans were as surprised as the Blackcaps by the event that took place just ahead of the game.

Speaking of the match the New Zealand team despite losing early wickets of Conway, Kane Williamson, and Daryl Mitchell, the New Zealand team has got their innings together with a great partnership between opener Will Young and Tom Latham for the fourth wicket.
As of writing the New Zealand score is currently 187-3 after 37 overs, where Latham is currently batting on 57 and Young on 103 off 111 balls. There are 13 overs left in the innings and the pair would want to make the most of this great partnership.
