South Africa’s Andile Phehlukwayo was subjected to an unusual dismissal in his recent outing against Afghanistan in the first ODI at the Sharjah Cricket Ground Stadium on September 18. The Jonny Bairstow and Alex Carey Ashes incident garnered immense spotlight when Carey dislodged the bails as Bairstow ventured out of his crease when the ball was seemingly live.
Phehlukwayo had a similar sort of dismissal but this time, Gulbadin Naib from slip did a Carey. Ghazanfar was bowling the 10th over of the game and the right-handed batter was enticed for a run, nudging one to the slip. The nudge, however, was off the pad and subsequently the player went for up for an LBW appeal although to no avail. But the ever-cunning Naib did the trick with the ball and unleashed a direct hit to send the all-rounder packing.
Here’s the video of the incident:

18-year-old Ghazanfar creates havoc for three-fer
South Africa’s Dubai trip was a nightmare as the batting order bore plenty of chinks in the visitor's armour. Apart from Wiaan Mulder’s 52 off 84, no other batter crossed the 20-run mark. Moreover, Fazalhaq Farooqi was at his lethal best picking four wickets in just seven overs, leaving the Proteas gasping for a respite.

Ghazanfar, who is just playing his second ODI, impressed with his three scalps in 10 overs. The 18-year-old gave just 20 runs in the process and his economy rate read just 2. He gave away just one boundary and accounted for 47 dot balls in his memorable spell. The key aspect of his spell was starting the eighth over of the game with a wicket in the form of Tristran Stubbs and concluding by plucking out JF Smith.
