In the 27th match of the IPL 2025 season between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first. From the opening over, the PBKS batters set the tone, launching an all-out attack against the SRH bowlers with boundaries flowing across the ground.

The innings began explosively as Mohammed Shami bowled the first over to openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya, conceding 14 runs. This aggressive start laid the foundation for a dominant batting display. SRH captain Pat Cummins took the second over, but even he was not spared.

On the second ball, left-handed batter Priyansh Arya, riding high on confidence after his century against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), smashed a six over deep square leg. Cummins, known for his experience, was outplayed by Arya’s bold strokeplay, as the young batter showed great intent. The sound of the bat was cracking and the ball landed deep into the stands.

PBKS continued their dominance throughout the innings. Arya blazed his way to 36 off just 13 balls, while Prabhsimran Singh supported well with a quickfire 42 off 23 deliveries. Following the dismissal of the openers, Shreyas Iyer stepped in and took control, dismantling the SRH bowling attack with a captain’s knock. He scored a blistering 82 off 36 balls, including six fours and six sixes.

In the bowling department, Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers for PBKS. Despite being expensive, he managed to register 4/42 in his four overs. Eshan Malinga also chipped in with two wickets, conceding 45 runs.

On the other hand, SRH bowlers struggled throughout the innings, with all bowlers getting an economy rate of over 10. SRH were left with the task of trying to contain and limit the damage in the final overs but to no avail.
