Watch: Rahul Dravid interacts with India players during practice ahead of New Zealand Tests
India will take on New Zealand in the first Test from October 16.
Former India head coach Rahul Dravid was recently spotted visiting team India’s camp in their training session ahead of the first Test of the three-game series against New Zealand. The series is all set to kick off from October 16 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, and Dravid was spotted having a chat with skipper Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli.
The clip of the same has been all over social media. It seemed like the atmosphere in Bengaluru was relaxed ahead of the three-game Test series as the Indian team prepares to repeat their performance in the series against Bangladesh, which they won 2-0 at home.
India in impressive red-ball form
Speaking of team India, they have been in impeccable form of late. They recently defeated Bangladesh in a two-game Test series, securing brilliant wins in Chennai and Kanpur. After a comfortable win in the first encounter in Chennai, the side managed to edge out a win in the rain-marred Kanpur clash despite nearly three days being washed out. With those two wins India solidified themselves at the top of the World Test Championship standings, but are still a bit far from reaching the WTC final.
They will have to clean sweep New Zealand and register at least one win against Australia in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series to make it to the WTC final. However, if they fail to do so, the team will have to depend on other results to qualify. With the series against New Zealand approaching, the Rohit Sharma-led India will hope to put in a good showing and get off to a winning start.
