All-rounder Ramandeep Singh picked up a phenomenal catch against Pakistan in the ongoing Emerging Asia Cup 2024. In the first ball of the ninth over, opener Yasir Khan flicked and it looked like would go to the fence, but Ramandeep, who was stationed at mid-wicket covered a good amount of distance and jumped to his right to pick up a stunning one-handed diving catch. The Indian players were elated to see his effort as Ramandeep too celebrated in style.

Notably, Yasir looked set on the crease and made 33 runs before spinner Nishant Sandhu got the better of him. Meanwhile, Ramadeep’s remarkable catch went viral on social media as former cricketer Dinesh Karthik too shared it and called it one of the greatest catches ever by an Indian.

This however wasn’t anything new for the cricketer, who is well-known for his fielding effort. During IPL 2024, the Chandigarh-born cricketer picked up a brilliant running catch to send Lucknow Super Giants’ Arshin Kulkarni packing. Commentator Ravi Shastri was very impressed with his effort and called it one of the best catches of IPL.

India A defeated Pakistan A by seven runs to win their first game of the Emerging Asia Cup 2024. Batting first, Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh gave India a flying start, as the opening duo stitched a partnership of 68 runs. After their dismissals, captain Tilak Varma took care of the business, scoring 44 runs. Batting at four, Nehal Wadhera made 25 while Ramandeep made 17 runs off 11 balls. With that, India posted 183 runs on the board.

When it came to the chase, Pakistan lost two early wickets but they were very much in the contest until the end. However, the youngsters failed to keep their nerve, resulting in a defeat. Anshul Kamboj was the star with the ball for India as he picked up three wickets while Rasikh Salam and Nishant Sindhu picked up two each.
