Is that a bird? Is that a plane? No, that’s Ravi Bishnoi. The famous dialogue from Superman perfectly describes Bishnoi’s efforts against Zimbabwe in the third T20I of the series. The incident took place in the fourth over of the match, during Avesh Khan’s over. After losing two early wickets, there was pressure on Zimbabwe but they didn’t back out from playing an aggressive brand of cricket.
When Avesh gave Brian Bennett some width, the 21-year-old didn’t hesitate to open his arms and hit it over backward point. However, Ravi Bishnoi who was stationed at the same place leaped with both hands up in the air and grabbed a phenomenal catch, leaving Bennett stunned. He fell on the ground with a bright smile, as all the teammates arrived to congratulate him. Avesh meanwhile had a bright smile on his face while Bennett too had one but it was because he couldn’t believe it.

With Bennett’s wicket, Zimbabwe were 19 for three, chasing 183 runs. They were nowhere close to the game in the powerplay and right after that, Washington Sundar picked up two wickets in the same over, putting more pressure on the hosts. Sikandar Raza, who was adjudged Player of the Match in the first T20I, departed for 15 runs while Johnathan Campbell went for one.

After their dismissals, Dion Myers and Clive Madande took control of the situation as the duo stitched a partnership of 77 runs. Madande got out after scoring 37 runs while Myers hit 65* runs off 49 balls. They looked in good touch during their stay at the crease but at no moment, Zimbabwe looked favourites to steal the game.
